Sugar remains weak on sluggish demand

Sugar prices continued to rule weak at the Vashi Wholesale market here today on subdued retail demand coupled with steady supplies from mills.  

Medium sugar quality (M-30) dipped by Rs 10/15 per quintal to Rs 2,906/2,991 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 2,921/3,001. 

Small sugar quality (S-30) moved down by Rs 10/11 per quintal to Rs 2,886/2,931 as compared to Rs 2,896/2,942 previously.

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,886/2,931 (Rs 2,896/ 2,942) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,906/2,991 (Rs 2,921/3,001)
