Sugar prices rose by Rs 13 to Rs 2,807 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in January rose by Rs 13, or 0.47% to Rs 2,807 per quintal with an open interest of 15,960 lots.
Analysts attributed the the rise in sugar futures to pick up in demand in the spot market.
