The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) scrip surged 15.34 per cent to close the day at Rs 500.1 on healthy quarterly numbers. TCS’ April-June quarter net was up 19 per cent Y-o-Y to 1,534 crore while revenues grew 12 per cent to Rs 7,207 crore.
Earnings per share stood at Rs 7.83, higher than estimates. The company also announced a dividend of Rs 2 per share. The stock opened at Rs 449.7 (the lowest point of the day) and made an intra-day high of Rs 5,14.2. Total traded volumes were 3.93 million shares.
