Tin leads the market

The local base metals market had a mixed week in trading, taking its cue from the London Metal Exchange (LME).
 
Tin slabs saw the maximum rise at over Rs 25 while other metals remained range-bound and a few declined marginally.
 
Locally, the price of nickel cathodes rose to close at Rs 735 per kilogram, from Rs 728 on Monday.
 
Copper wire bars rose to Rs 208 from Rs 205 on Monday. Copper heavy scraps closed at Rs 179 on Monday, the same as last week.
 
Copper utensil closed down by Rs 1, at Rs 157 from Rs 158 last week.
 
Brass utensil scraps displayed a similar trend and closed at Rs 120 from Rs 119 last week. Brass sheet cutting closed at Rs 127 on Monday, a price at which it remained steady all week.
 
Aluminium utensil scraps closed at the same as last week at Rs 84.
 
The price of aluminium ingots closed minorly higher at Rs 103, from Monday's Rs 102 and lead ingots closed at Rs 51 from Rs 52.50.
 
Zinc slabs closed at Rs 74 up by 50 paise from last week. Tin slabs closed at Rs 490, drastically down from Rs 515 the previous week.
 
Copper light scraps traded at Rs 170 from Rs 169 and Copper sheet cutting closed at Rs 164 from Rs 165.
