Tin and nickel prices surged at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to strong demand from alloy industries despite bearish global cues.
Elsewhere, copper also edged up on better industrial offtake, while brass softened owing to subdued buying by consumer industries.
Nickel shot up by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 1,235 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,220 and tin rose by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,460 as against Rs 1,450.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar all inched up by a rupee per kg each to Rs 476, Rs 467, Rs 454, Rs 427 and Rs 504 respectively.
However, brass utensils scrap looked down to Rs 306 as compared to Rs 307 previously.
