Turmeric prices declined by Rs 50, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 14,470 per quintal in futures trade today on profit booking by speculators at existing higher levels.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in July contract fell by Rs 50, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 14,470 per quintal, with an open interest of 10,085 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in August contract lost Rs 72, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 14,470 per quintal, with a trading volume of 2,620 lots.
Market analysts said profit taking by speculators at existing higher levels led to a fall in turmeric futures prices but spot demand and restricted arrivals limited losses.
