Turmeric prices declined by Rs 52 to Rs 8,030 per quintal in futures trade today on sluggish export demand against increased arrivals of new season crop in the market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in July declined by Rs 52, or 0.64% to Rs 8,030 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,555 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June shed Rs 8, or 0.10% to Rs 8,062 per quintal in 8,930 lots.
Market analysts said increased arrivals of new crop in the physical market against sluggish export and local demand mainly led to the decline in turmeric futures prices.
