Turmeric continued to trade in positive territory in futures trade with prices rising by Rs 92 to Rs 9,440 per quintal today, powered by depleting stocks and bargain buying.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), turmeric prices for delivery in May rose Rs 92, or 0.98 per cent, to Rs 9,440 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,310 lots.

The spice for delivery in April gained Rs 74, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 9,982 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,250 lots.

Analysts said the rise in turmeric futures prices was supported by reports of some export enquiries and bargain buying by traders.
