Turmeric prices moved up by Rs 58, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 14,586 per quintal in futures trading today on emergence of low-level buying supported by, restricted supplies in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for July contract rose Rs 58, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 14,586 per quintal, with an open interest of 9,790 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in August contract traded higher by Rs 30, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 14,380 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,975 lots.
Analysts said low-level buying by traders, against limited arrivals from the producing regions at physical markets mainly pushed up turmeric prices at futures trade.
