Turmeric, jeera rise on stockists buying

Turmeric and jeera prices rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today due to pick-up in overseas enquiries.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts and rising domestic demand also supported the uptrend. Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 8,100-14,100 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also increased by Rs 200 each to settled at Rs 15,000-15,200 and Rs 17,200-17,300 per quintal, respectively, due to strong overseas demand.

Following are today's quotations: 

Ajwain 17,500-23,000, black pepper common 27,800-28,000, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 920-980, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,225

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 600-630, cardamom (colour robin) 610-650, cardamom bold 630-680, cardamom extra (bold) 880-910 and cloves (kg) 750-825

Chirounji (new) (kg) Rs 570-670 Dry mango (raipur) Rs 9,000-10,500 Dhania Rs 5,500-10,500 Dry ginger Rs 15,000-21,000 Kalaunji Rs 9,000-9,500 Mace-Red (kg) Rs 1,400-1,525 Mace-Yellow (kg) Rs 1,750-1,825
