Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists, amid demand from exporters.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts also influenced the prices. Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 7,900-13,500 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also rose by Rs 100 each to finish at Rs 15,400-15,700 and Rs 17,700-17,900 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from stockists as well as exporters against restricted arrivals from producing region mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
