Turmeric futures prices rose by Rs 265 or 1.97 per cent to trade higher at Rs 13,700 per quintal after speculators covered up their short positions amid pick up in spot demand at prevailing levels.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in August contract traded Rs 265, or 1.97 per cent at Rs 13,700 per quintal, with an open interest of 180 lots.
