Shares of Uco Bank increased 3.58 per cent to Rs 28.9 on news that the Kolkata-based bank would receive Rs 1,200 crore of capital infusion. The capital infusion from the government is to be done in two tranches.
The fund infusion of Rs 450 crore is to be made in FY09 and the other Rs 750 crore in FY10. The stock made an intraday high of Rs 29.9 and a low of Rs 27.25 with trading volumes of 13.9 lakh shares (about five times higher than its two-week average activity). The scrip made a 52-week high of Rs 54.3 and a low of Rs 22.15.
