Uptrend in copra continues on strong demand, low supply

The rising trend in copra prices unabated as copra Alapuzha, copra Kozhikode and copra edible shot-up further at the spices market here today on continued buying from stockists and retailers.

Limited arrivals from producing centres in view of rains amidst higher festive demand also attributed to the surge in copra prices.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode jumped by Rs 250 per quintal each to Rs 4,600 and Rs 4,500 from Monday's closing level of Rs 4,350 and Rs 4,250.

Copra edible Mumbai also hardened by another Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 5,500, as against Rs 5,400 yesterday.

Other spices remained stable owing to lack of buying support.
