Prices of urad and arhar rose by Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today on emergence of stockists buying, followed by pick up in demand.
Marketmen said stockists buying and limited arrivals from the producing regions led to a rise in wholesale urad and arhar prices. They said a firming trend in the producing regions also supported the uptrend.
Urad and its dal chilka local gained Rs 100 each to Rs 5,400-5,950 and Rs 6,300-6,700, while urad dal best and dhoya traded higher by the same margin at Rs 7,200-7,500 and Rs 7,300-7,400 per quintal.
Arhar and its dal dara also seen in demand and advanced by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,400-4,500 and Rs 5,450-5,850 per quintal.
