Urad, its dal trade higher

In restricted activity, urad and its dal prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today on buying by stockists and pick up in demand.

However, other commodities prices moved in a narrow range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.

Traders said fresh buying by stockists followed by pick up in demand, mainly pushed up wholesale urad and its dal prices.

Urad and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,200-5,750 and Rs 5,800-6,200, while urad dal best and dhoya traded higher by the same margin to Rs 6,700-7,000 and Rs 6,750-6,850 per quintal.
