Urad, moong down on increased supply

In restricted activity, urad and moong turned weak on the wholesale pulses market today on adequate stocks following increased supply pressure. Other pulses, however, continued to trade at previous levels in the absence of worthwhile activity.

Market analysts attributed weakness in urad and moong to increased supply pressure against sluggish demand.

Urad and urad chilka (local) fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,950-4,350 and Rs 4,850-5,250 per quintal respectively. Moong and its dal also traded lwoer by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,930-4,930 per quyintal due to fall in demand.

Masoor small 2,750-2,950, bold 2,900-3,150, Dal Masoor local 3,250-3,350, best quality 3,550-3,850, Malka local 3,350-3,400, best 3,500-3,600, Moth 1,700-2,000, Arhar 3,250-3,750, dal arhar dara 4,850-5,250
