Urad prices fall, sugar and wheat soar

Prices of urad dal went down, sugar and wheat went up, while all other commodities remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains marked during the week ended today.

Urad dal declined by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 6,500 on Monday and further moved down by Rs 200 on Thursday to Rs 6,300 continued the same rate up to Saturday over its previous week's rate of Rs 6,700.  

Sugar and wheat opened the week at its previous week's rate of Rs 2,700 and Rs 1,900, went up by Rs 60 and Rs 50 per quintal and ended at Rs 2,760 and Rs 1,950, respectively.   

Thoor dal, moong dal, gram dal, maida and sooji maintained the previous week's rates of Rs 6,200, Rs 5,800, Rs 2,950, Rs 1,750 and Rs 1,900 respectively.
