Urad, rajma decline on increased supply

Urad and rajma prices drifted up to Rs 200 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today on sluggish demand against increased arrivals.

Marketmen said increased supplies against subdued demand at existing higher levels mainly led to a fall in urad and rajmah red prices.

They said trading sentiment turned bearish on reports that the state-run MMTC has invited bids for the sale of 15,750 tonnes of imported pulses in the domestic market.

Urad declined by Rs 100 to Rs 5,300-5,850, while urad dal chilka local and best quality were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,200-6,600 and Rs 7,100-7,400, while dhoya lost Rs 100 to Rs 7,200-7,300 per quintal. 

Rajma red also lacked necessary buying support from retailers and lost Rs 100 to Rs 3,400-3,500 per quintal.
