In restricted activity, urad prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal on increased offtake by stockists and local parties.
Other commodities, however, traded in a tight range in the absence of worthwhile activity.
Market analysts attributed rise in urad prices to pick up in demand from local parties, amid firming trend at producing centres.
In the national capital, Urad and urad chilka (local) traded Rs 50 each higher at Rs 4,300-4,850 and Rs 5,100-5,500 per quintal respectively.
