The US markets closed in the green on Friday after data showing the United States shed far fewer jobs last month than expected boosted hopes that its economy was moving forward.
The job losses were less than an expected 130,000 and the unemployment rate declined to 10 percent from 10.2 percent in October.
Dow Jones closed at 10,388.9, stronger by 22.75 points or 0.22% and the Nasdaq ended at 2,194.35, higher by 21.21 points or 0.98%. S&P shut at 1,105.98, up 6.06 points or 0.55%.
The Indian ADRs closed largely in the green. MTNL closed at $3.26, higher by $0.09 or 2.84%, Tata Communication ended at $16.76, higher by $0.39 or 2.38%, ICICI Bank shut at $38.24, higher by $0.74 or 1.97% and HDFC closed at $139.35, up $2.37 or 1.73%.
The exceptions were Sterlite (weaker by $0.01 or 0.05% at $19) and Dr Reddy's (lower by $0.68 or 2.77% at $23.89).
