VA Tech Wabag has gained 3% to Rs 1,560 on NSE in early morning trade after the company announced that it has won World Bank funded sewage treatment plant order worth Rs 175 crore in the Philippines.
The company will design and build the 60 MLD Valenzuela sewage treatment plant for Maynilad Water Services Inc. using the activated sludge process. The contract also includes operations and maintenance of the plant as part of performance proving period of one year, VA Tech Wabag said in a statement.
Wabag Philippines has an impressive order backlog of about Rs 450 crore in just three years of its operations in Philippines, it added.
The stock opened at Rs 1,568 and hit a high of Rs 1,599 on NSE. A combined around 12,000 shares changed hands on the counter in firt 10 minutes of trade on NSE and BSE.
