VA Tech Wabag has gained 3.3% at Rs 455 after the company in a joint venture with Pratibha Industries has won an Rs 262 crore order from Melamchi Water Supply Development Board, Nepal.

“The scope of work comprises construction of water treatment plant at Sundarijal, Nepal which will have an initial capacity of 85 MlD and will be designed to be expanded to 170 MlD, and to 510 MLD at a later stage,” VA Tech Wabag said in a statement.

The project has been funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), it added.

The stock opened at Rs 450 and touched high of Rs 460 on NSE. A combined around 3,500 shares have changed hands on the counter till 1010 hours on NSE and BSE.
