Wall St bounces back; ADRs shine

The Wall Street bounced back smartly on Tuesday after Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke eased fears of natonalizations of banks. The Dow Jones industrial average index rallied 236 points to 7,351. The Nasdaq surged 54 points to 1,442.

Indian ADRs, too, ended with smart gains. Tata Motors and HDFC Bank soared over 7% each to $3.48 and $55.69, respectively. ICICI Bank and Tata Communications rallied over 5% each to $14.09 and $15.85, respectively. Infosys surged 4.7% to $24.78. Gepact, Sterlite, Satyam and Wipro were up 1-3% each.

On the other hand, MTNL plunged nearly 4% to $2.50, and Patni Computers was down 1% at $4.93.
