A sharp late rally on the Wall Street helped the major indices end on a flat note after reports suggested that the Obama administration is working on a new mortgage plan for homeowners.
The Dow Jones industrial average index recovered smartly from a low of 7,694, to end seven points lower at 7,933. The Nasdaq rallied from a low of 1,495, to close 11 points higher at 1,542.
The Indian ADRs ended on a positive note. MTNL and Tata Motors sruged around 3% each to $2.92 and $3.82, respectively. Wipro and HDFC Bank rallied around 2.5% each to $6.84 and $62.05, respectively. Genpact, Dr.Reddy's and Tata Communications were up around 2% each.
On the other hand, Patni Computers slumped 7.4% to $5.37, and Satyam shed 4.5% at $1.71.
