Wall St slumps on fear of global slowdown; ADRs tumble

The Wall Street slumped on Thrusday on weak job data and fears of global slowdown. The Dow Jones industrial average tanked 345 points to 11,188. The Nasdaq plunged 75 points to 2,259.

Indian ADRs, too, ended with significant losses. Sterlite tumbled 6.6% to $12.84, and ICICI shed 5.8% at $30.64. HDFC Bank crashed nearly 5% to $90.34. Dr.Reddy's slipped 3.5% to $13.20. Tata Motors and Tata Communications dropped 3% each to $9.25 and $19.09, respectively. Infosys declined 2.7% to $39.52.
