US stocks opened lower on Friday after data showed the US economy grew less than expected in the fourth quarter, while weak earnings from Ford and Procter & Gamble and Eurozone debt worries also weighed on the market.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 23.54 points, or 0.18%, at 12,711.09. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 2.99 points, or 0.23%, at 1,315.44. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 6.79 points, or 0.24%, at 2,798.49.
