Walnut rises on retailer demand

Walnut and its kernel prices rose in the wholesale dry fruits market today on pick up in retailers demand.

Traders said pick up in retailers demand mainly pushed up wholesale walnut and its kernel prices. 

Walnut rose by Rs 15 to Rs 200-265 per 40 kg and walnut traded higher by the same margin to kernel (1kg) Rs 490-740. 

Meanwhile, other dry fruits continued to trade in a tight range in the absence of worthwhile activity and settled around previous closing.
