In the non-edible section, castorseeds bold opened lower at Rs 5,400 per 100 kg, but later recovered smartly to close at Rs 5,515 vis-a-vis the previous weekend's close of Rs 5,425, a sharp rise of Rs 90 per 100 kg.
Castor oil commercial resumed resumed lower at Rs 1,110 per 10 kg, but later hardened to finish at Rs 1,133 vis-a-vis last weekend's close of Rs 1,115, a gain of Rs 18 per 10 kg.
Linseed oil opened steady at Rs 660 per 10 kg, but later declined to end at Rs 650 compared to the preceding weekend's level of Rs 660, a loss of Rs 10 per 10 kg.
In the futures section, castorseeds for June delivery resumed lower at Rs 5,035 per tonne, but later recovered to a high of Rs 5,385 before settling the week at Rs 5,307, as against last Saturday's closing level of Rs 5,106, a hefty gain of Rs 201 per tonne.
Bullion: Both the precious metals, silver and gold surged to all-time highs on the bullion market during the week under review on heavy buying by stockists and speculators, triggered by a strong rally in global markets.
Silver sky-rocketted to Rs 61,400 per kg, while gold climbed to a record high of Rs 21,545 per 10 grams. Trading sentiments bolstered after gold rose, setting a record in global markets, as a weakened dollar boosted demand for the precious metal as an alternative asset and an inflation hedge.
Silver also climbed above $40 an ounce to a 31-year high.

The yellow metal in global markets, which normally sets the price trend on the domestic front, climbed to USD 1476.40 an ounce, while silver jumped to a 31-year high of $40.97 an ounce.
On the domestic front, silver ready maintained its record-setting journey through the week and gained Rs 5,000 to all-time high of Rs 61,400 per kg, while weekly-based delivery rose by Rs 4,725 to Rs 50,645 per kg.
Silver coins followed suit and spurted by Rs 5,000 to Rs 66,500 for buying and Rs 70,000 for selling of 100 pieces. In line with a general rising trend, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity flared up by Rs 480 each to record levels of Rs 21,545 and Rs 21,425 per 10 grams, respectively.
Sovereigns, also seen in demand, advanced by Rs 200 to Rs 17,700 per piece of eight grams.
