Jaggery: In a mixed trading pattern in the wholesale jaggery market in the national capital last week, gur prices ruled flat in Delhi in limited deals, while the prices declined in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar on lack of support.
Market analysts said increased arrivals of new stocks in the capital market against slackness in demand mainly kept the gur prices under pressure at Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets.
In Delhi, gur chakku and pedi prices maintained last week's closing levels of Rs 2,250-2,300 each per quintal on some support.
Gur dhayya and shakkar prices also ruled flat throughout the week on some support at Rs 2,300-2,350 and Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal, respectively.
In Muradnagar, gur dhayya eased by Rs 50 to Rs 2,000-2,050 while pedi prices maintained last week's levels of Rs 2,000-2,050 per quintal in thin trade.
At Muzzafarnagar market, gur chakku dropped from Rs 2,000-2,200 to Rs 1,950-2,150 per quintal on new supply, while gur khurpa prices remained unchanged on some support at Rs 1,950-2,000 per quintal.
On the other hand, gur raskat prices moved up by Rs 50 to close at Rs 1,750-1,850 per quintal on better offtake by alcohol-making industries.
