Buying support from investors, robust inflows from FIIs, a benign monetary policy and strong second quarter earnings boosted the sentiment and catapulted the markets to all-time highs.

The markets may continue their northward march backed by liquidity, though there could be increased volatility. While the rally is concentrated in large-caps so far, mid-caps and small-caps are likely to see more action.

Since markets are at new highs, some investors may see this as an opportunity to book profits at higher levels.

The stock has been a major underperformer since the beginning of 2006. It has decided to raise close to Rs 900 crore with the issue of rights shares in the ratio of 6 shares for every 10 shares, 5.25 million debentures and warrants, convertible at Rs 500 per share.

The proceeds from the issue will be used for expansion and retirement of high-cost debt.
