Wheat dara remained weak for the third straight day in the wholesale grains market today, lost Rs 5 per quintal on slackness in demand against adequate stocks position. Maize and barley also showed some weakness on reduced industrial offtake.
Traders said adequate stocks position against reduced offtake from flour mills mainly pulled down wheat dara prices.
Wheat dara (for mills) slipped further by Rs 5 to Rs 1245-1250 per quintal and atta chakki delivery traded lower by the same margin at Rs 1250-1255 per 90 kg, while maida shed Rs 10 at Rs 750-780 per 50 kg.
Maize and barley also traded in negative zone with a loss of Rs 10 each to Rs 960-970 and Rs 1020-1040 per quintal.
