In restricted activity, wheat dara traded lower by Rs 5 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on increased supplies from the producing regions and government's decision to release five MT of grain in the open market.
The government decided to release five million tonnes of wheat in the open market and retain zero duty on its imports in the wake of soaring food prices. Elsewhere, other commodities prices moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) declined by Rs 5 to Rs 1,235-1,240 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery traded lower by the same margin at Rs 1,240-1,245 per 90 kg, while atta flour mills lost Rs 10 to 630-650 per 50 kg.
