Wheat dara maintained an upward march for the third straight day by adding Rs 5 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on rise in demand from flour mills against slowdown in arrivals.

Traders said increased demand from flour mills supported by the ongoing marriage season, led to a rise in wholesale wheat dara prices. Slow down in arrivals from producing regions further fuelled the uptrend.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) gained Rs 5 to Rs 1,235-1,240 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by Rs 10 to Rs 1,250-1,255 per 90 kg, while atta flour mills traded higher by the same margin at Rs 640-660 per 50 kg.
