Continuing its slide, wheat futures traded Rs 2.80, or 0.22 per cent, lower at Rs 1,265.20 per 100 kg today, as traders reduced their positions, driven by adequate stocks at spot markets.
Slack demand from bulk consumers such as flour millers at spot markets also kept pressure on the wheat futures.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, wheat for delivery in October contract fell Rs 2.80, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 1,265.20 per 100 kg, with an open interest of 17,530 lots.
The grain for delivery in current-month August contract also shed Re one, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 1,228 per 100 kg, with an open interest of 7,150 lots.
The ample stocks at spot markets due to bumper crop this season continued to put pressure on the wheat futures prices here, analysts said.
