Wheat dara and maize prices rose by up to Rs 20 per quintal in the wholesale grains market following pick-up in demand from flour mills and stockists.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills to meet the ongoing festive season demand mainly led to the rise in wheat dara prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 15 to Rs 1,175-1,180 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,185-1,190 per 90 kg.
Sooji moved up by Rs 15 to Rs 830-845 per 50 kg on festive demand. Maize also seen in demand and gained Rs 20 to Rs 1,190-1,200 per quintal, supported by industrial demand.
