Wheat procurement in Punjab touched an all-time high of 10.6 million tonne (mt), as against the fixed target of 10.5 mt till last evening. During the previous rabi season, this figure stood at over 9.6 mt.
While government agencies procured 10.3 mt (ie 97.6 per cent), private traders procured 18,810 tonnes, said chief minister’s media adviser Harcharan Bains.
