Wheat remains up on increased offtake by flour mills

Wheat prices today improved up to Rs 25 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on the back of steady buying by flour mills to meet the ongoing marriage season demand.

Traders said steady buying by flour mills to meet the ongoing marriage season demand influenced wholesale wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) remained in demand and added another Rs 10 to Rs 1,170-1,175 and wheat deshi was up by Rs 25 to Rs 1,700-1,800 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by Rs 10 to Rs 1175-1180 per 90 kg, while flour mills by Rs 5 to Rs 615-635 per 50 kg.

Maida and sooji also strengthened by Rs 25 and Rs 20 to Rs 660-690 and Rs 700-720 per 50 kg, respectively.
