Wockhardt gains on USFDA nod for Oxycodone liquid

Shares of Wockhardt were up 3% at Rs 1,439 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company announced that it has received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration for marketing 5mg/5ml of Oyxcodone HCL liquid.

"We have filed several ANDA's over the last couple of years from our Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals facility in Illinois, USA, especially for liquid products. This is only the first of few others we expect soon," he said.

Oxycodone HCL liquid is dispensed for treating moderate to sever acute and chronic pain, the release said.

The stock opened at Rs 1,430 and touched a high of Rs 1,450. At 1:20PM, ove 830,000 shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
