Zinc down 0.1% on subdued demand, global cues

Zinc for delivery in September traded lower by 0.09%

Amid low demand in spot markets and a weak trend in the global market, zinc extended weakness with prices falling marginally by another 0.17% in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in October shed 20 paise, or 0.17%, to Rs 117.60 per kg in business turnover of 23 lots.

Likewise, zinc prices for delivery in September traded lower by 10 paise, or 0.09%, to Rs 116.05 per kg in 385 lots.

Market analysts said besides sluggish domestic demand in the spot market, weak trend int he entire base metals pack in the global market, weighed on zinc prices in futures trade.
