Zinc prices moved down 0.22% to Rs 112.60 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed positions, in tune with a weak global trend.
In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in December shed 25 paise, or 0.22%, to Rs 112.60 per kg, in a business turnover of 21 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in current month traded lower by 20 paise, or 0.18%, to Rs 111.60 per kg, in business turnover of 277 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in select base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after data showed activity in China's vast manufacturing sector declined in October for the third straight month, triggering worries about the Chinese economy, a crucial driver of global growth, mainly weighed on zinc prices in futures trade.
