Zinc futures prices today moved down by 0.76% to Rs 117.75 per kg as speculators trimmed positions amid sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in September declined by 90 paise, or 0.76%, to Rs 117.75 per kg in business turnover of 179 lots.

Likewise, the metal prices for delivery in October traded lower by 85 paise, or 0.71%, to Rs 119.40 per kg in 94 lots.

Market analysts said besides sluggish domestic demand in the spot market, weak trend in base metals overseas on concerns over US budget impasse, put pressure on zinc futures here.
