Zinc futures prices fell by 0.96% today amid a weak trend on the London Metal Exchange (LME) as investors apprehended a decline in global demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, November zinc fell by by Re 1, or 0.96%, to Rs 103.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 163 lots.
The September contract fell by 60 paise, or 0.59%, to Rs 101.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 576 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures prices to a weak trend in base metals on the LME, as investors apprehended a decline in demand for industrial metals ahead of the release of key US unemployment data later in the day.
