Zinc prices moved down 0.45% to Rs 110.55 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced their positions, in tandem with a weak global trend.

In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in November contracts shed 50 paise, or 0.45%, to Rs 110.55 per kg, in a business turnover of 7 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in October traded lower by 40 paise, or 0.36%, to Rs 109.55 per kg in a business turnover of 281 lots.

Marketmen said weakness in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on signs of a weak demand outlook in China, the world's biggest consumer, mainly put pressure on zinc prices in futures trade.
