Zinc shed 0.34% to Rs 103.65 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in squaring-up their positions in the face of monthly expiry.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in March declined by 35 paise, or 0.34%, to Rs 103.65 per kg, with a business volume of 629 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April also shed 25 paise, or 0.24%, to Rs 104.95 per kg, in a turnover of 249 lots.
Traders said squaring-up of pending positions by speculators in the view of monthly expiry along with subdued demand for the metal at the spot markets led to the fall in zinc futures prices.
