Zinc prices fell by 0.35% to Rs 99.75 per kg in the futures market today despite the metal strengthening on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, for December delivery, zinc edged lower by 35 paise, or 0.35%, to Rs 99.75 per kg in 83 lots.
For December contract delivery, the metal also shed 30 paise, or 0.30%, to Rs 98.80 per kg, with an open interest for 769 lots.
Market analysts said subdued demand in the domestic spot market mainly put pressure on zinc futures prices here, but the gains on the LME restricted the losses.
Meanwhile, zinc was being quoted 0.4% higher at $1,894.75 per tonne in early trade on the LME.
