Zinc futures down 0.55% on spot demand, global cues

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July month declined by 60 paise

Amid sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend, zinc prices traded lower by 0.55% to Rs 109.05 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July month declined by 60 paise, or 0.55%, to Rs 109.05 per kg in business turnover of 490 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June traded lower by 55 paise, or 0.51%, to Rs 107.70 per kg in 3,177 lots.

Market analysts said besides sluggish domestic demand in the spot market, weak global trend mainly influenced zinc prices in futures trade.

Meanwhile, zinc was down 0.7% at 1,836.25 dollar a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
