Zinc prices fell by 0.57% to Rs 104.40 per kg in the futures market today, in tandem with a weak trend on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Subdued demand from domestic industry also weighed on zinc futures prices here.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in December edged lower by 60 paise, or 0.57%, to Rs 104.40 per kg in 768 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for January contract delivery shed 50 paise, or 0.47%, to Rs 105.35 per kg, with an open interest for 31 lots.

Market analysts said subdued demand in the domestic spot market mainly put pressure on zinc futures prices here.

Meanwhile, zinc was being quoted 1.2% lower at $2,021.25 per tonne in early trade on the LME.
