Zinc prices fell by Rs 2.10, or 2.72 per cent to Rs 75.10 per kg today in futures trade, after tracking weak trend overseas and subdued demand at domestic markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for June contract drifted by Rs 2.10, or 2.72 per cent to Rs 75.105 per kg, with a turnover of 9,007 lots.

The metal for delivery in July contract also shed Rs 2.10 or 2.68 per cent, to Rs 76.35 per kg, with a turnover of 724 lots.

Analysts said, apart from subdued demand at spot markets, weakness in copper and other base metals overseas on worse- than-expected US jobs data and concerns that the slowing Chinese economy may affect the demand for the metal, weighed on the zinc futures prices.
