Zinc futures prices improved marginally by 0.06 per cent to Rs 103.65 per kg today as speculators covered-up pending positions, driven by firm global trends.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc delivery for December gained 10 paise, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 103.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 25 lots.
The metal for delivery in January also traded a shade higher by five paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 104.85 per kg, with a business turnover of six lots.
Globally, zinc remained almost flat at $2,297 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange.
Analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures prices to firm trends in the base metals pack overseas and better demand for the metal at the domestic market here.
